Em 1978, Corky Laing (montain), por uma sugestão de sua gravadora,  Imaginou  e idealizou o que seria um supergrupo "junto com ele (bateria / vocais), Ian Hunter (Mott The Hoople ex) nos teclados e vocais, Mick Ronson na guitarra e Felix Peppalardi (Mountain) no baixo. Eles começaram a gravar, mas logo depois a gravadora perdeu o interesse e financiamento parado. As sessões foram concluídas em um estúdio diferente, mas guardadas até agora. O CD tem luz própria, força suficiente para alavancar plateias. O CD é preenchido com duas faixas do álbum solo de Corky 1978, talvez porque uma vez que inicialmente tinha parado o financiamento. Em resumo, um CD de interesse principalmente histórico apenas.

Paul Bruce Dickinson (Nottinghamshire, 7 de Agosto de 1958) é um historiador, aviador e vocalista inglês, célebre por seu trabalho como vocalista da banda de heavy metal Iron Maiden.

Foi o vocalista da banda Samson de 1980 até ter-se juntado ao Iron Maiden no álbum The Number of the Beast em 1982.

Outros talentos do cantor incluem literatura, tecnologia ferroviária e pilotagem de aviões.

Ele saiu do Iron depois do álbum Fear of the Dark e fez carreira solo. Seu primeiro álbum foi Tattooed Millionaire. Em 1999 ele voltou ao Iron Maiden e lançou o Brave New World, seguidos por Dance of Death (2003) e o último, A Matter of Life and Death (2006). Após o Dance of Death, ele lançou apenas um álbum solo, chamado Tyranny of Souls, sem deixar o Iron Maiden.

Atualmente, Bruce apresenta, aos sábados, o concerto vespertino de "rock" na estação de rádio BBC 6 Music da divisão de rock alternativo da BBC, e o Programa Heavy Metal no Ar (sobre aviação) pelo Discovery Channel. Recentemente ele pegou o papel principal na série da BBC Radio 2, Masters of Rock.

Dickinson, que trabalha profissionalmente como piloto de aviação civil na empresa britânica Astraeus Airline,[1][2] foi responsável por pilotar o Boeing 757 que levou a banda na Somewhere Back in Time Tour.[carece de fontes?]

Um dos sub-gêneros que mais curto fora do universo Hard Rock e Heavy Metal tradicional é o Stoner/Doom Metal, talvez porque todas as bandas do estilo terem um pé nos anos 70 como principal influência. O Doom e o Stoner já existiam nos anos 70, tendo o Black Sabbath e Pentagram como principais expoentes, mas só veio a ser chamado assim nos anos 90 quando dividir o Heavy Metal em centenas de vertentes passou a ser uma cruzada de fãs, músicos e imprensa especializada, antes tudo era Heavy Metal e ponto.

A Suécia é o país que tem mais se destacado quando se trata de Stoner e Doom Metal e faz tempo venho observando a cena de lá que revelou nomes como Siena Root, Burning Savior, Witchcraft, Count Raven e mais recentemente o Bigelf que apesar de americana está radicada naquele gelado país.

Durante a semana estarei apresentando a vocês três bandas que na minha opinião merecem destaque e entre elas está o Blowback que iniciou atividades em 2004 e lançou até agora apenas um Ep e um Split com o Asteroid. Esse Morning Wood é o debut dos caras e foi lançado de maneira independente, o site oficial chegou a disponibilizar o disco para download durante algum tempo. O som do Blowback é caracterizado pelo groove dos grandes mestres setentistas aliado aos riffs pesados de bandas como Kyuss e Orange Goblin o que resulta num som técnico e honesto de alta qualidade. Confiram que vale a pena!

Statu quo (da expressão in statu quo res erant ante bellum) é uma expressão latina que designa o estado atual das coisas, seja em que momento for.

Status Quo é uma banda de rock britânica formada em 1962. É composta por Francis Rossi (guitarra, vocalista), Alan Lancaster (baixo), Rick Parfitt (guitarra, vocalista) e John Coghlan (bateria). Tocam um Hard Rock primário, sem grandes artificios mas muito eficiente. A sua formação, e o nome, só estabilizam em 1967, tendo o seu primeiro single "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" em 1968 sido um grande sucesso. Em 1981 sai John Coghlan e em 1985 sai Alan Lancaster, mas o grupo mantém-se em cena, tendo participado no Live Aid.
