O guitarrista e vocalista Alvin Lee nasceu em 1944 em Nottingham, Inglaterra.
No final da década de 60 montou o Ten Years After, banda seminal que gravou ótimos álbuns e ficou marcada por uma apresentação explosiva no Festival de Woodstock em 1969.
Durante alguns anos, disputou o posto de melhor guitarrista de rock, se destacando por seu virtuosismo e velocidade.
Em 1974, com o fim do Ten Years After, Alvin Lee iniciou carreira solo.

Fui surpreendido por essa menina aí em cima: Tal Wilkenfeld. Ela tem apenas vinte e pouquinhos anos e é um fenômeno no baixo, já tendo tocado com o Jeff Beck e mais alguns outros monstros por aí.
Transformation é o seu álbum de estreia e traz um jazz meio groove bem moderno. O disco é todo instrumental e vale a pena pra quem quer curtir uma boa música nesse próximo feriado. Aprovado e recomendado

Uma das bandas mais importantes do rock nacional. Assim podemos definir a Plebe Rude, que, junto com o lendário Aborto Elétrico (grupo que deu origem à Legião Urbana e ao Capital Inicial), liderou o rock politizado de Brasília, na década de 80.
Com letras de protesto ao estilo punk, porém com um instrumental mais trabalhado que as bandas desse gênero, a Plebe voltou à ativa na década de 2000, após alguns anos de separação.
Uma curiosidade é que em 1981, Plebe e Legião fizeram um show juntos no interior de Minas – era estréia do grupo de Renato Russo. Por causa das letras “Voto em branco” da Plebe e “Música Urbana 2” da Legião, os integrantes de ambas as bandas foram presos após o show – leia mais aqui. Só aí já se tem idéia do período maldito que nosso país viveu de 64 a 85.
Das bandas 3 bandas brasilienses, a Legião terminou após a morte de Renato Russo, cuja banda preferida era a Plebe Rude; o Capital Inicial optou por ganhar dinheiro no mainstream, adotando um estilo pop. Restou a Plebe, com a fidelidade a seu próprio estilo – algo raro nesses tempos de bandas sem personalidade própria, comandadas por produtores.
