Imagine músicos jovens e talentosos, que tinham atitude rock 'n' roll e carregavam na bagagem as mais diversas (e positivas) influências nacionais e internacionais; esse era o perfil do Egotrip, grupo formado (ou melhor, fabricado) em 1987 pelo baixista Arthur Maia. Como todo grupo fabricado, o Egotrip não chegou longe, mas durou tempo suficiente para emplacar uma canção, Viagem Ao Fundo Do Ego, que teve boa execução nas rádios.

O único disco gravado pela banda é um prato cheio para os admiradores de rock 'n' roll sem rótulos ou diretrizes. Nele é possível encontrar desde o rock 'n' roll mais elementar até rítmos mais pop e dançantes típicos do rock de arena; tudo comandado pelo baixo e pelos teclados, diga-se de passagem, e a presença de sax em algumas músicas ainda confere ao disco um caráter jazzístico apetitoso.

Além da já citada Viagem, carro-chefe do trabalho, destaco Kamikase, Antes Nós Que Sós, a balada Arlequim e A Lei Sou Eu, cujo refrão diz "Vou prender a quem me prendeu / Vou bater em quem me bateu / Vou ofender a quem me ofender / Nessa terra sem lei a lei sou eu".

O Infectious Grooves nasceu depois que dois integrantes do Suicidal Tendencies, o vocalista Mike Muir e o baixista Robert Trujillo, começaram a fazer experimentações e a misturar Funk com Metal, claro, com muito ‘groove’(no ínicio dos anos 90 isso ainda era novidade). O resultado agradou bastante a dupla, mas as composições não se encaixavam com o som que o Suicidal Tendencies fazia. Decidiram então aproveitar o material em um novo projeto, intitulado Infectious Grooves. Após 4 álbuns Trujillo acabou deixando o grupo, pois sua agenda já não comportava mais o Infectious Grooves. Ele estava tocando com Ozzy Osbourne e posteriormente virou integrante do Metallica. Em seu lugar entrou Josh Paul, mas mesmo assim, ele ainda faz suas participações nas músicas da banda.
